History and Tradition

Podere Sant'Apollonia was part of the Granducale Estate of Montecchio. Originally a worker's dwelling from the final years of Granducal administration, the property doesn't appear on an 1823 map by engineer A. Manetti because the area was still being reclaimed.

Historical records show the building was divided into two units before the 1863 sale, likely altering its original design. In the late 19th century, the ancestors of current owners renamed all farm units after saints, establishing the present name.

Sant'Apollonia houses the owners and includes the Picchio apartment, while Santa Maria contains the Rondone and Falco apartments, formerly occupied by sharecroppers until 1990.

Summer Relaxation Area

During the summer season, our irrigation pond is converted into a bathing and relaxation area for guests (available upon request to the property).

This body of water has a distinctive design: viewed from above, it reveals a surprising airplane, precisely a Falco heading south, a playful element that reflects the passion for flying that characterizes the aerial farm stay.
